i want to unpolish the world of fiction
I wonder if I still like fiction, because I'm struggling to find anything I enjoy, popular or not. I don’t think I can handle polished stories or conventional narrative structures anymore. They feel like they lack spontaneity, and somehow that makes them boring. The more natural a narrative is trying to be, the more artificial it looks to me, but it makes no sense, right?
When I consume these works, I sometimes feel like shaking the TV, book, or PC, as if trying to loosen things up or break the flow, I don’t know how to explain. Maybe "chaos" seems somehow more appealing now: some awkwardness, loose ends, no perfect endings, no tidy character arcs… I’m not sure what I want. It feels like I’m asking for a “bad” story... Am I crazy?
